Player Evaluation: Trevor Golightly

SIZE:

Trevor has good size for a 2027 Dual Threat QB at 6’0″ 178 lbs. He plays with strong confidence in his game. Attacks the defense at every level with strong throws made downfield.

ACCURACY:

Displays very good anticipation and timing of his receivers’ routes. Throws are made in-line with his receivers, allowing them to make a play on it. Good ball placement. Would like to see tighter trajectory at long range.

ARM STRENGTH:

His throws include high velocity with a tight rotational spin. A quick snap of the wrist, he’s able to gain momentum upon his release.

RELEASE:

An over-the-top passer with a high release point. Generates increased acceleration throughout his arm motion.

THROW ON RUN:

He works to the outside with good quickness and speed. Getting the ball out in front of him as he seeks out a target. Works fluidly from a pocket passer to a dual threat. A playmaker on the field.

FOOTWORK:

An athletic QB who’s difficult to contain within the pocket. Dangerous out in the open field.

POISE:

Gives him high marks for this attribute. Not easily distracted when executing a play. Very good patience as he waits for a play to develop.

POCKET PRESENCE:

Very difficult to contain within the pocket. Works well in and around the pocket with good agility. Good feel for the space around him.

DECISION MAKING:

Trevor does a good job seeking out his best option receiver while working through his progressions.

TOUCH:

Very good touch on his throws at every level; short, intermediate, and long. He has worked to reduce the air underneath his throws at longer range.
